Faculty of Medicine Capital University Organizes Medical Convoy to Serve Residents of Al-Zohour Center in 15 May City

The Faculty of Medicine at Capital University represented by the Community Service and Environmental Development Committee, organized a medical convoy in cooperation with Badr University Hospital, the Students’ Hospital, the Faculty of Pharmacy, the Faculty’s Student Union, and the Alumni Unit. The convoy was held at Al-Zohour Center in 15 May City on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
The convoy was held under the patronage of Prof. Sayed Kandil, President of the University; Prof. Walid El-Serougy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Rasha Refaei, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; Prof. Khaled Osama Abdel Ghani, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Wael Omar, Executive Director of the University of the Capital Hospitals; Prof. Mohamed Ibrahim Kotb, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Dr. Nasser Hamzawy, Director of the Students’ Hospital.
This convoy comes within the framework of the university’s active role in serving the community and stems from its social responsibility, under the auspices of the presidential initiative “Bidaya,” launched by H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, which aims to build the Egyptian citizen and promote values of belonging and volunteerism.
The Faculty administration emphasized that such initiatives contribute to developing students’ sense of social responsibility, enhancing positive participation, and enriching teamwork skills. This, in turn, strengthens their personal development and ability to contribute to building a better society. The role of the university is not limited to academics alone but extends to effective engagement and practical implementation on the ground.
The convoy witnessed a large turnout from local residents, with 387 cases examined across various medical specialties. Necessary treatment was provided and medications were dispensed to eligible cases free of charge.
