Capital University Launches a Comprehensive Medical Convoy in Ain Helwan as Part of the “Bidaya” Initiative

The Faculty of Medicine, represented by the Committee of Community Service and Environmental Development, participated in organizing a comprehensive medical convoy in cooperation with Badr University Hospital, the Students’ Hospital, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Capital University, the Faculty Student Union, the Alumni Unit, the Scientific Student Association, and the Faculty of Sports Sciences.
The convoy was held at Ain Helwan Youth Center on Wednesday, January 14, 2026.
This activity was conducted under the patronage of:
* Prof. Dr. El-Sayed Kandil, President of Capital University.
* Prof. Dr. Waleed El-serogi , Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development.
* Prof. Dr. Rasha Refaie, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine.
* Prof. Dr. Khaled Osama Abdel Ghany, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development.
* Prof. Dr. Wael Omar, Executive Director of Capital University Hospitals.
* Dr. Nasser Hamzawy, Director of the Students’ Hospital.
* Prof. Dr. Sara El-Beih, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences for Community Service and Environmental Development.
* Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy.
Within the framework of Capital University’s active role in serving the community and stemming from its social responsibility, this initiative comes in line with the “Bidaya” movement launched by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, which aims to build a new generation of citizens.
These initiatives reflect the university’s commitment to developing students’ sense of social responsibility, strengthening their sense of belonging, and encouraging positive community participation. They also contribute to enhancing teamwork skills, which positively impacts students’ personalities and their roles within society by increasing their capacity for giving and active contribution to building a better community. Education is not limited to academic achievement alone; rather, it becomes more effective through hands-on participation and practical implementation on the ground.
During the convoy, 627 patients across various medical specialties were examined, and the necessary treatment was provided free of charge.
